The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has revised the federal Lead and Copper Rule to strengthen protections against lead exposure in drinking water. Children are particularly vulnerable to the harmful effects of lead exposure, which can affect brain and nervous system development, learning, hearing, and behavior. For more information about lead in drinking water, please visit the EPA’s website.
To comply with the updated regulations, TGW was required to verify the type of pipe used for the water service line at the entry point of homes built before 1986. TGW conducted inspections at affected properties to identify and document the service line materials.
Update – August 2024:
TGW completed its service line inventory, and no lead service lines were identified. The State has approved TGW’s submitted inventory report.
